 Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Sebastian “Spart1e” Siira from Sweden, Im a gamer am here for the Quake tournament with my team fnatic.

How long you been doing this and why?

Professionally I have been competing since 2006, but I have been playing games way before that, when I started it was all for fun.

What’s your take on the notion that games encourage violence?

They are always fun. If there were no games people would look at something else, there is a bit of violence in games ,it’s the same as the movies.

Dustin Botha as you know Im the Director of Lux Brands, we run manage and distribute brands such as Element, Skull Candy, Etnies Footwear.

What role do you think your brands play in the Urban youth culture?

Skull candy in particular changed the face of headphones. Headphones as you know were dull, Black and Grey mostly. Headphones do take up an important part of your head. So we  sat down with our team and saw that Pink iPods, For instance, sell more than black and white ones and we used the same concept for our headphones. Everyone can see your headphone and we have contributed to fashion.

What was the process in establishing your brand?

Who is George?

Im an 18 year old white boy, who loves what he does. The biggest misconception about me is that im a rich white boy from the  “burbs” when in actual fact everything that I own I have earned and worked for.

What role do events like these play in the role of the youth?

This plays a huge role in terms of keeping us up to date with things that we love doing. It’s a platform for growth and putting S.A. on the map. I started as a competitor and now ive graduated into a judge.

How do you define your own true style?

Everyone can learn something from someone, even I learned from others until I found my own voice, no two mouths are the same.

Who is DJ Ready D?

People know me as a HipHop DJ/ Turntablist, I have been involved in  HipHop for longer than a minute, been involved with many projects and  crews. One of the first crews that kinda built a foundations for HipHop in SA been Prophets of The City(AKA P.O.C) and out of that came out Braase Van die Kaap(AKA B.V.K) I have got a turntablist crew known as The Cape Flats Beat Bangers.I have also worked with live bands especially in the jazz arena, in television I have also done a show  a show on customization called Mzanzi Rides it focuses on peoples passion for cars and customizing cars, also part of a crew called Drift Squad which is hardcore drifting that’s my scene these days. If im not behind the wheels of steel its definitely behind the wheels of a drift machine.

What role do you think an event like this plays is the youth culture of today?

I have been to many events, and this one  symbolizes evolution happening in HipHop, there is a new generation and a new crowd supporting this event.
